Broadfield Care Services recognise and know the excellent reputation that they have within the community is down to the managers, supervisors and care staff that deliver a high standard of quality care to people in their own homes.

That is why all staff recruited are subject to a rigorous background check and must be prepared to undertake all the training that the company deems necessary for them to keep the high standard of quality care that we are known for.

Training

Each new recruit completes a company application form, two references from past and present employers are obtained both verbal and written, at the interview stage the experience, qualifications, past and current work history is discussed, applicants must  have an enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check, we will not employ anyone who’s past record show that they have been barred from a previous employer that would present a risk to our clients.

Our Induction Course and Mandatory training is delivered by our dedicated in-house training Manager.  For specialist courses we use reputable training companies.

All our staff undertake a comprehensive Induction programme in line with the new Common Induction Standards and depending on their previous knowledge, skills and experience a new employee will be shadow training for one or possibly two weeks.

All staff have on going mandatory training in:

  • Introduction to Broadfield, Policy and Procedures

  • Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults

  • Infection Control

  • Health and Safety

  • Moving and Handling

  • Food Hygiene

  • First Aid awareness

  • Medication administration

  • Health care Diploma-2-3

If necessary other training is available to staff including:

  • Dementia

  • Dignity in Care

  • Catheter and Stoma

  • End-of-Life

  • And much more

Staff have regular supervisions to determine what training that they feel would help them to deliver a better standard of service to our clients.
