With 15 years experience June started her career in the care sector working for a local agency where she quickly progressed to a Senior Carer position. Then in 2001 she opened her own business, Broadfield Care Services during which she gained qualifications in NEBS
Management Course, Business Start Up, Business Planning, NVQ level 2, Business Administration, NVQ levels 2 and 3 Health & Social Care, NVQ level 4 Registered Managers, Employment Law, Person Centred Care Planning and all other mandatory training required by the local authorities. June said, "I am proud of the Broadfield name and thank the team of staff working with us making the business what it is today".
James has 12 years experience working within the care sector. He started part-time in a home for people with learning disabilities before joining the family business. He started as a regular carer, working his way up to the position he now holds as Training Manager. He

has NVQ levels 2 and 3 in Health & Social Care, level 3 Palliative Care, level 4 Management skills, Core Trainers Award, Teaching Qualification PTTLS and Train the Trainer awards, he is the in-house trainer for Health & Safety, Moving & Handling, Risk Assessments, Induction and all other mandatory training, his role within the company also includes Health & Safety Officer and is a named First Aid person.
With 23 years experience 12 of which with the family business. Dawn played a big part in helping the business get off the business off the ground in the early years. She has progressed from Carer to Senior Carer and for the past 5 years has worked as Care Manager.

As a young mother, Sharon joined the family business 11 years ago, working in the office taking on admin and reception roles as well as working as an evening carer. As the General Manager she now overseas the day to day running of the business as well as wearing a few

Sharon said `I get great satisfaction knowing that we as a company are one of the leading providers of home care in Lancashire knowing that the quality of care we give to our clients is second to none'.
Carolann is one of our Senior Supervisors. She has worked in the care sector since 1982 where she did 25 years in a care home working her way up to a Senior position. She then decided that she needed a change and wanted to give the homecare sector a try and luckily she came to us. Like

Carolann has her NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care, NVQ 2 in Palliative & Dementia Care, Person Centred Care & Support Planning, Train the Trainer, Moving & Handling, Risk Assessment and all mandatory training required within the company. Carolann said ‘ It is knowing that you make a difference in peoples lives and that they are happy and safe in their own home, I have no regrets about the career path that I chose all those years ago I have met some lovely people and some real characters”.
Gail started working in the care industry 20 years ago before joining the family business working a few hours a day. She mainly did the rotas and the administration. After completing a business management course, Gail now has responsibility for the financial side of the

business, including wages, accounts etc. As Gail has worked as a carer previously she will go out into the community when her services are required. Gail said "Although its been a challenge, it has definitely been worth it knowing that we have built a team of caring and compassionate staff who provide a high standard of care in the local community".
Sharon Kenny
Care Coordinator
Sharon started as a part time carer 9 years ago, at the time she worked 2 jobs however moved into the business full time since she "found working in care was much more satisfying than work she had done previously". Sharon started working oin reception up until 12 months
ago when she became part of the care co-ordinate team, whilst doing these two positions within the company she has still carried on doing care work. Sharon holds her NVQ 2 in Health & Social Care, NVQ 2 in IT, NVQ 2 in Business Admin, and NVQ 3 in Customer Care, she is the named qualified First- Aider and has completed all mandatory training. Sharon said "I enjoy going out to see the clients and interacting with them"..
Miriam Martin

Miriam has been in the care industry for 10 years. She decided to make this her career path after nursing and looking after her husband. Before joining Broadfield, she was employed with another agency where she served for 7 years both as a carer and a senior carer. She started with
Broadfield as a carer but soon worked her way up to the senior supervisor’s position. Miriam is dedicated to her job and interacts very well with both clients and staff, she has her level 2 in Health and Social Care and will be furthering her career prospects by completing her level 3. She has completed all of her mandatory training and specialist training in End-of-Life and Dementia Care. Miriam says ‘I am glad that I came into care work it is the most rewarding work I have ever done the care of the clients is important to me and I have found that since becoming a senior supervisor that all the staff at Broadfield treat all of our clients with the highest respect and promote their independence’.
